Short description
The trail takes you to the Niederwerb bay. Here there are lots of deeply notched brook valleys to be bypassed. After crossing the bay you should follow the trail and walk uphill to the Mühlecke. Charming wood sceneries and panoramas are waiting for you. The wood of the gnomes and mythical creatures grows on a schistose lichen-rich slope with oaks and beech trees. The ones who can leave this fabulous world will follow the trail along the Edersee slope with scraggy woods and breathtaking panoramas until you reach the Bärental brook. It is graved deep in the rocks. Water, humid air and the nutrients of the sedimentary rock create an ideal environment for a fertile flora. After crossing a wooden bridge you will walk along a steep serpentine hunter path which takes you out of the brook valley. Afterwards, the route crosses forests in close contact to nature and then slowly descents into the Waldeck bay. You just have to walk uphill on the Schlossberg and you have finally reached the Waldeck with its impressive castle.
